*Jrs – just a reminder that the application period for the UNMC Alliance program closes on January 24th. Please refer to the email that Mrs. Hernandez sent out for more details about the program and the application process. The program provides you with an opportunity to observe, shadow and work alongside world-renowned health care professionals and researchers at UNMC and Nebraska Medicine, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists and public health advocates. It also allows you to take courses that are not available in the traditional high school setting, such as infectious diseases, biomedical research and medical decision-making.
*9th – 12th grade students
Please respond to the email that Mrs. Hernandez sent out about the trades career info session next Wednesday to secure your pass if you haven’t already done so. Wednesday’s session is about the Lozier’s Sponsorship for the Trades program and if you are interested in a “high skilled, high demand, and high wage” career, and a program that will pay for your tuition, books, tools, and provide you with a part time job so you can “earn while they learn” for two years at Metropolitan Community College let Mrs. H know so she can send you a pass.
*Seniors – now is the time to get your FAFSA completed if you haven’t already. February 1st is just two weeks away and it is a major scholarship deadline.
You will need to make sure that you have your FAFSA Submission Summary because it’s required for several upcoming applications! More on this in Tuesday’s senior session in your English class!!
*MCC academy students, if you will be competing at MODI next Friday please stop and let Mrs. Hernandez know so she can give you an orange sheet so it will be an excused absence.
*SkillsUSA Members, if you are interested in participating in SkillsUSA State, please let Mr. Humphrey know.
*Calling all track stars … We will have an informational meeting for anyone interested in joining the high school Track & Field team during homeroom in the gym – You may also sign up outside Coach Taylor’s room.
*There will be a golf meeting in the small engines room during homeroom for anyone interested in golfing this year.
