| Dear Parent:This year your son/daughter has an opportunity to be a member of SkillsUSA. This is a national student organization that teaches leadership and employability skills to help students succeed—both on the job and in life.
I hope you will support participation of this activity by your child. Membership dues for our SkillsUSA Chapter are $15 and they are payable by check or cash at the office. These dues will cover State and National Membership dues. Active SkillsUSA members will have a chance to conduct a variety of professional development activities including competitions that test their job skills against industry standards. There will also be opportunities to receive credentials that will enhance a job portfolio. And, students who elect to participate in skill or leadership events are eligible to represent their school at the state or national level, and to win industry awards and scholarships. Additional information about regional, state or national events will be posted later, once we determine participation.
