It was a great year for the food drive at Fort Calhoun Elementary. The event was organized by the student council and a total of 3,450 items were collected! All the items collected were donated to the food pantry at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fort Calhoun. The winning classrooms got to have a pajama day. The winners were Miss Hall’s class upstairs and Mrs. Larsen’s class downstairs. A fun addition this year was a Putt-Putt course set up with all the cans and items collected. With the help of Mrs. Rutledge, student council members and Mrs. Larsen’s students set up the course in the gym using all the items. All the students had fun playing golf. In addition, the staff at the Elementary school donated 583 items in exchange for jeans days and the students and staff at the Junior-Senior High collected 564 items.
