On Wednesday April 20th twelve students participated in a conference wide art exhibit hosted by Arlington High School. The students had an opportunity to create a work of art inspired by Bellevue artist Bart Vargas who has named his sculptures bottleballs, which are made primarily from discarded plastic bottles. The idea behind the sculptures is to bring awareness to the amount of waste our society produces. The twelve students that participated entered a total of forty-seven works of art into the competition. Forty of those pieces earned awards. Skylar Wear earned the award for Outstanding Artist from Fort Cahoun, which was voted on by all conference students who participated in the event. Arlington High School is hoping to make this an annual event.
